I left out cactus pit as an option but I'm pretty sure unless you were constantly angering the warden it would also decide to abandon ship. You could have the warden standing on some cactus while you shoot it, though. A huge amount of potions in dispensers may also work, but the massive set up for something like that definitely disqualifies it from being a "best" way to kill the warden.

@George This is actually not true. If 1 warden is near a shrieker, another one definitely can't spawn. But if previous warden is dead/far away from shrieker, then you can spawn another one.

    • Jeffrey Black
Jeffrey Black 2 meses atrás +2

@George You don't need to to entity cram it. You can use minecarts.
Also, as long as you get it far enough away, you can spawn another.

I’ve mainly just kept using tons of water. I found that Wardens can’t swim down in water. They float like freaking balloons. I just keep putting ceilings into the halls of the Ancient Cities and placing water over it so I can at any point just break a few blocks above me and watch the thing just slowly *Ascend* in front of me while I just reblock the ceiling and move on. Plus, if you wanted to kill the Warden for any reason, just put a magma block under you, break the ceiling blocks, and just keep punching him. All you need is to be at least 3-4 blocks under him and he’ll be unable to even reach you while you can just keep bopping him in the legs. I have become Aquatic Mole Man.

I only rely on iron Golem, 3-4 stack iron ingots. I summoned 3 iron Golems then when the Warden attacked one of the Iron Golems, I keep healing the Iron Golem who was fighting with Warden. I heal a bit away because the Warden will instantly change his target and attack me to death.

Can we just get a video about strategies to sneak around ancient cities safely, what to do if you accidentally summon the warden and how to avoid it getting aggro on you? What to do when it does? I'm not interested in killing it, I think it'll be way more fun to sneak around. Like a heist. But all the BRclip videos I've found while trying to figure this out are about killing the thing.
Tbh I think that trap you set to shoot at it works as a last resort so that's nice!

The way I approached it the first time I went into an ancient city was simply flying in with my elytra, grabbing what I want and leaving straight away (I figured beating the dragon is easier than fighting the warden so I waited til I had an elytra before I took on the cities). There's almost always gonna be cave networks surrounding the ancient city so you can always retreat onto a nearby ledge or something. You might have to trust yourself to be able to fly blind if you do have to flee from a warden because of the darkness effect. Now that I've raided an ancient city, I have swift sneak so I don't mind crouching and exploring the proper way. Last things you'll need are some night vision potions (they help a lot) and something that can break sculk fast. The tool you use to till farmland (and has a name that gets my comments deleted) is perfect and only needs efficiency 4 or 5 on it, plus silk touch if you want to keep the shriekers. Just be tactful as to which ones you wanna break to prevent warden spawns

The suffocation one is probably the most practical for explorers imo. Since only one warden can spawn at a time, if you can just hold the warden in one place for as long as possible, then you can feel free to explore the immediate area without worrying about being killed.

dig a 16 block deep hole in a wall at the edge of a city and put an iron golem on a lead just outside the hole. as long as you hit the warden once he will ignore the iron golem and continue to pathfind towards you. as long as you stay 15 blocks from the warden in the 2 block high hole the warden wont be able to hurt you. but the iron golem outside will attack the warden without taking any damage. all you do is wait

The warden just getting bored and deciding "uh bye" was one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. I wonder if u hit him with ur sword occasionally if that would keep agro enough for him to stick around. Like, 1 slap then back away incase he can slap back, regen and repeat. I would assume that would work.

  • SkyEcho751
    SkyEcho751 3 meses atrás +17

I love that the warden can just say "Nah I'm not feeling it today" and just leave. Though technically speaking you 'might' be able to combine the bow and piston strategy to speed up the process.

  • That1powergamer

enchants and potions definitely need to be introduced into this but it is true with the bow thing. also maybe we can do something with ice and the spikes as well to add to the arrow hole method? sorry if I seem like I'm thinking to hard about it I'm getting in a power gaming mind set.

@-ADRIAN - sir, armor cannot reduce sonicboom damage it doesn't matter if you have those or not (unless you want to body that behemoth or you're really bad at kiting warden into a hole)
Ps. The strength is obiviously gonna be strength 2 so basically 1.30 minutes for regen tho regen 1 should be sufficient so basically 3 minutes to 8 (or not, never test it after it nolonger counted as undead)
      turtle master
Level 2 only ofc but it last around
20 seconds?(correct me if I'm wrong) just bring 2 and you should be fine.

    • -ADRIAN -
      -ADRIAN - 3 meses atrás +1

@ปรีดิวัฒน์ ชาตกิตติคุณวงศ์ that is a little less expensive than other methods involving potions, but it strongly depends on how long the strength and regen are supposed to last and how strong their effect is meant to be.
And the second one, you'd need to make sure to be out of distance to avoid its sonic attack, but also close enough to it doesn't despawn, so armor certainly would be needed for the very least. So, while it can be done that way, and certainly works, its risky and probably unreliable unless you learn to do it and set it up that way.
And yes, the risk of summoning another warden is high.

    • ปรีดิวัฒน์ ชาตกิตติคุณวงศ์
      ปรีดิวัฒน์ ชาตกิตติคุณวงศ์ 3 meses atrás

@-ADRIAN - grab turtle master, regen, and strength then body with him. You should be able to take it out easily.
But you're right! Why go in and make life hard?
Just use bow and arrow while trapping it in 2 blocks deep hole is easier. You don't even need armor if you set it up right. Also while it's stuck in the hole just break all shrieker in the area bewarned tho you might summon another one.

This is a fantastic video, because it gave me an idea. For the second trap with the trap doors, place some pressure plates on the floor in the pit for multiple dispensers to shoot arrows at it, all while you play hit and run tactics with it. That way you continue damaging it as it triggers the traps and keeps it’s attention hitting it then getting to a safe distance to heal.

What about a path of water? Can it fight the current or will it get dragged away by other mobs? My idea is to have a much-shorter distance falling onto dripstone where you'd have it go through a cycle of water pushing it into soulsand water current (which has an insanely strong push by the way) and then push it back into the shorter dripstone pit, that way you dont have to have it fall 250-something blocks. Just use pistons or something and find a way to push him back into the water for a second trip!

In my own playing around in creative, I learned the warden fits in a water elevator, I've also seen another youtuber come up with a drowning system to kill the warden using a note block to draw it in, a water elevator to take it up, and then have it move over and drown with a hopper to collect the catalyst block. Go as high as possible, you may even have to mine upwards (carefully). Then tug on that rod and mister warden will go flying and take lots of fall damage. You wont die, since he cant hit you, and the sonic boom thingy doesn't one-shot. You won't need armor since it goes through defence. Took me a couple of seconds to kill him. easy

9:23 what about putting drip stone on the blocks so it’s a automatic spike trap. Or better idea make this automatically trap but closing on each side (crusher trap) like you see in Star Wars but put drip stones on it so it’s a spiky crusher trap

    • CaptainDanger13

well drip stone only damages people when you apply kinetic energy to the situation. either someone lands on it or it lands on someone. in your plan, it would only do damage at the first hit if that's even possible and then after that the warden with just take normal suffocation damage.

The best way is to just get someone as bait for the warden to chase after and then give it backshots, because it won’t notice you. Also, the warden is an undead mob, so smite 5 is better than sharpness in this encounter

How effective are harming potions and harming tipped arrows? Also, what about either roses too? You can combine that with other methods. Btw harming tipped arrows do more damage while the bow is shortly drawn, so spam click the bow with a Power 5 bow maybe.

Fun fact! Ten iron golems kill the Warden easily. However, if the Warden is reduced to only its sonic attack, due to being on the other side of a wall that an iron golem can attack through, one iron golem is more than enough to defeat the Warden.

Wardens can drown in water but not lava and still not sure about freezing to death because I've tested it but got bored after a while. It's also harder for the warden to find and attack underwater or at least in an ocean monument.

@-ADRIAN - I had this string of ideas when the Warden was the first buzz.
-Firstly, I want to address how the Devs say that making a tower wouldn't save you. I propose that the Warden generates Sculk under it's feet as it walks anywhere that's not in the Deep Dark. The Warden could also make a "Sculk Wall" up a cliff that only it can climb, if it knows you escaped upwards.
-Secondly, I want to address any possible weaknesses. The first obvious one I think, should be Sunlight, but instead of damaging the Warden, it afflicts it with Weakness. Also, I think that Water should also be a weakness against the Warden, but only temporarily. Unlike Endermen, the Warden will be afflicted with Slow and Weakness, but if its in the water for too long, it'll infest it, turning it into a new type of water; Deep Murk.
-Deep Murk will be a water type found exclusively in the Deep Dark and its Cities. This thick water moves at about 1.5 times the speed of lava, and appears pitch-black on the surface, and causes Darkness to the Player if they're standing in it.
-The waters of the Deep Dark should not be barren, however, as I imagine the Deep Murk is actually very bright and glow under the void-like surface, teeming with Sculk-infested plant and marine-life.

@Promethean Rebel the lack of a reward for killing the warden, and the "costs" related to killing him, are already punishment enough. Although ngl, I like the idea of a curse or effect as an additional punishment.

They should add a Curse onto the Player after they manage to kill the Warden, like when you pick up a Pillager's Banner. Something to actively punish them for killing it.

I love that we still have people showing you're not screwed against the warden despite the thousands saying to never seek it out because it's supposed to be scary.
But we gotta give hardcore players some hope.
    CaptainSparkles, here's the actual key:
Prot 4 full netherite, and Turtle Master Level 2 potions on standby, and drinking them- also perhaps a golden apple eaten for the absorption 1 extra gold hearts
For offense, Sharp 5 netherite swords or axes with Strength 2 WITH strength 2 potions on hand and drinking them- AND attacking the Warden with critical hits s much as possible-
With this, you'll kill it in 20 hits (sword) or less(axe) and turtle master 2's resistance 4 is powerful enough to let you survive. having golden apples on hand to keep absorption and some regen going, and you're good to go- but this is actually what it takes to overpower the Warden in a fistfight
    This is the main thing
of course ,god apples would help to have on hand for emergencies , or regen potions.
Obviously a power 5 punch 2 (warden is immune to knockback, NOT Punch though!) bow with SPECTRAL arrows helps of course,
ender pearls for movement , and night vision are good to have though , and totems of course.

You know... This is surprisingly relevant, because my younger bro found a pretty funny way to do this himself. Probably why I'm getting recommended this video anyways.
Iron Golem and a stack of Iron Ingots. You can probably put together what the process is yourself.
If not, then it's real simple. You construct the Iron Golem, you go about your business and end up summoning the Warden. You immediately get behind the Iron Golem, which will start smacking it around, keeping the Warden's aggro on it instead of you. It does a ton more damage than the Iron Golem, and will break it down faster than it can kill the Warden, which is where the Iron Ingots come in, as you stay close behind the Iron Golem, keeping it repaired to full health. Done right, you can probably even do it with less than a stack, but that's how my bro did it. Expensive, sure, but surprisingly effective...

Lol just like the hoglins, no lava damage. Unless they updated Warden from the expiermental version, i dug into the wall and to the side 2 blocks over and had a block cover me and it came after me but couldnt attack me, couldnt sonic boom me either, i didnt have any special items, just a regular iron sword at the time, i had to use 5 or 6 swords to kill it. But man... when it appears that was so spooky, specially when you affected by darknezs

It would take 42 instant damage II potions to take him out, assuming you hit him directly. In that case it´s better to just throw him some TNT, it takes between 9 to 11 direct hits (TNT and Warden in the same block) to kill him

@Learn BRclip I figured it’d be an easy low skill kill with a dispenser and hoppers. Not super practical but could be fun. (Also for anyone wondering it would take 56 instant damage 2 potions if that was your only source of damage.)
